Music Ministry

First Methodist Church is blessed to have several different music groups. Each one has an important role to play in the overall ministry of the church.  If you’ve been waiting for the right time to become active and explore your musical interests, there is not a better time than the present!

Chancel Choir

The group meets on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. in the choir room. The membership is open to anyone who enjoys singing, from high school students to those that are retired. An audition is not required. This is the main group responsible for special anthems and leading the music in the Sunday morning worship hour. They also present seasonal music, special works, and music for other events, such as Christmas, Lent, Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, etc.

Hand Bell Choir

They play often in the worship services and additional events during the year. They meet on Tuesday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the choir room.

Children’s Music

We offer music to the children through the “Mini-Methodist” program on Wednesday afternoons. Mini-Methodist provides many opportunities for learning and music is one of these.
