The Challenge — Day 77
Today’s Scripture: Mark 15:1-20
[Read the Scripture in your Bible or online by clicking the above reference.]
Pilot, the Roman governor who questioned Jesus, was amazed that Jesus refused to say a word. Pilot perceived Jesus as innocent and recognized the envy that turned the Jewish leaders against Him. But the leaders and crowd cried out, “Crucify Him!”
Pilot turned Jesus over for execution. The Roman soldiers in charge of the execution detail whipped Jesus as normal preparation for crucifixion. They were brutal and mocked Him before leading Him off to be crucified.
Who would you say was on trial, Pilot or Jesus?
Do we sometimes base our decisions on interests other than truth?
