Read: Psalm 131-132 [Click the link to read online or open up your Bible.]

For the Lord has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place: “This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread. Her priests I will clothe with salvation, and her saints will shout for joy. There I will make a horn to sprout for David; I have prepared a lamp for my anointed. His enemies I will clothe with shame, but on him his crown will shine.”

Psalm 132:13-18

Chosen. The place where God’s presence dwells is chosen, selected by Him. Merriam-Webster’s defines chosen as: selected or marked for favor or special privilege.

Jesus tells His disciples: You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide…

Followers of Jesus are chosen by Him for special privileges including the Holy Spirit’s presence in our lives.

Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?

1Corinthians 3:16 ESV

We are chosen for the indwelling of His Spirit and all the blessings which go with it. The same blessings God placed on Zion as His dwelling place.

If you are having trouble remembering you’re chosen by the Creator, privileged, marked for favor, choose the blessing you need most to be reminded of from the list above. Then go to the New Testament verses which affirm the Old Testament promises connected to God’s presence indwelling Zion. Remember they are yours.

Be blessed. Be joy-full. Be free! You are chosen.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

1Peter 2:9

Lord, don’t let me forget the wonder of Your Spirit living in me. Remind me You are there.
